TUITION ASSISTANCE
☆ applications open for summer 2023 ☆
We are on a mission to make our programs as accessible as possible to all youth. We become stronger as a global community when we’re exposed to people of different backgrounds, religions, income levels, regions, ethnicities, cuisines, music tastes…
Applying for tuition assistance does not affect any camper’s or family’s chances of being accepted into summer camp. We encourage you to ask for help IF YOU NEED IT. If you are able to pay for at least 1 session without our help, you are not eligible for tuition assistance.
amplify returners scholarship fund
★★★
We’ve opened up a special pool of funding exclusively for our returning campers whose families do not necessarily “qualify” for tuition assistance based on the HUD recommendations below: our AMPLIFY RETURNERS SCHOLARSHIP FUND. Simply select that option when completing the application below.
We’re so happy to stay connected with our return campers + families 🤗
PLEASE NOTE
Tuition assistance CANNOT be used as a discount toward enrolling campers
in multiple sessions. If families can afford to pay for 1 session of Amplify, then the camper
can attend 1 session of Amplify. Tuition assistance exists for youth who
otherwise would not be able to attend Amplify at all.
Please help us reserve our resources for families
who truly NEED our support.
☆ applications for tuition assistance open until may 1 ☆
We use the above HUD recommendations in determining tuition assistance. We also take into consideration each camper’s and/or family’s unique circumstances.
tuition assistance guidelines
This serves as a guideline only and is not a strict determination of how much tuition assistance families will receive. That being said, families belonging to the following household income levels can typically expect to contribute the correlating tuition ranges. This process is confidential.
<$25,000
Expect to pay $50–1,000 per camper per session.
Most tuition assistance goes to campers from households whose total annual income is less than $25,000.
$25,000–40,000
Expect to pay $500–1,800 per camper per session.
Please indicate how much you CAN pay for tuition.
$40,000–60,000
Expect to pay $1,000–3,600 per camper per session.
We generally grant assistance to families in this income range only if they have extenuating circumstances.
>$70,000
Generally, we can consider assisting families in this income range only in extreme, extenuating circumstances.
We cannot grant tuition assistance due to campers being committed to multiple summer plans (e.g., vacations), or other situations involving elective activities.
We cannot afford to grant every tuition assistance request, as much as we want to. We prioritize families with the greatest need.
Complete the form below AND ALSO email jen@girlsrocksb.org a copy of last year’s tax return OR proof of qualifying for a school lunch program.
In order to give this experience to as many girls as possible, we only award assistance for campers attending 1 session. If you’re able to secure funds to pay for 1 session, we cannot provide tuition assistance toward a 2nd session.
next steps
Fill out the application below. For all summer programs/sessions, the application deadline for tuition assistance is May 1. Do not register your camper for camp until we’ve officially notified you about tuition assistance. We always reserve a certain number of registration spots for these students, so don’t worry about camp filling up while you’re waiting to be notified about your tuition assistance status.
Send us your previous year’s tax return OR proof of qualification for free lunch. We cannot process tuition assistance applications until we’ve received all supplemental documents.
Expect to be notified by email about your tuition assistance application status by the end of May. We always reserve a certain number of registration spots for these students, so don’t worry about camp filling up while you’re waiting to be notified.
After we’ve notified you about your tuition assistance package, this is when you should register your camper(s) for Amplify. There will be further instructions in the email.
