Her young-sounding but powerful voice flows over clean-cut acoustic guitars and will pull you into a world full of sass and sweetness. Walking into her world of music is taking a step into an acoustic pop sound with a big pop chorus. Hearing her music is taking a look into her private life, from boys to home problems to leaving her small town to see the big world. When you listen to her songs, she wants you to know you’ll never be alone, through any problems you face.
Jazara is an 18-year-old solo artist/songwriter currently residing in Oslo, Norway. She’s originally from Santa Barbara, California, where she was raised by her American mother and Jamaican father.
Drawn to music at an early age, she began writing her own songs and taking vocal lessons with Agatha Carubia. Starting at 13, she picked up her first guitar and started working with composer/songwriter Adam Zelkind. Since then, she’s opened for Gavin DeGraw (in 2017) at the Granada Theater for a benefit concert called Kids Helping Kids, performed with Kenny Loggings several times since 2018, and recently graduated from a one-year intensive music program called LIMPI, which is located in Norway.

18-year-old singer/songwriter Kendall Hite, known by her stage name, Della, grew up in Southern California surrounded by music. After witnessing some of her family’s deep connection to music, she was inspired to start her own individual journey. Della is currently a proud member of Syryn Records, and we are honored to be amplifying her art so it can reach even more people.
Della began to craft her music from her bathroom floor in order to cope with being a growing girl with big thoughts and feelings. Being influenced by artists like Mazzy Star and Elliott Smith, she admired the catharsis and release of their gentle force in songwriting. Writing songs soon became an instinctual outlet for Della to be vulnerable and validate the weight and spectrum of her emotions. Her sound is lullaby-like, featuring her familiar and healing melancholic vocals layered with glistening sleepy harmonies. After finding her sound, Della began taking baby steps by performing at local open mic nights, hoping to encourage others to be vulnerable and to allow themselves to surrender to the euphoria of being human.

16-year-old Southern California-based singer/songwriter Mika16 is a self-taught guitarist now entering into the world of production. Ever since her middle school years, she has been utilizing music as an outlet for self-expression and equally as a crutch. Her tale-like songs feature a vulnerable perspective where she can explore the growing pains of her teenage years. Her somber voice pours over haunting guitar tracks adding to the poetic narratives. Summer 2020 marks the first time she will be stepping out of her bedroom and releasing her music publicly.

17-year-old producer Zadie Jean is based in Southern California and started writing songs at nine years old, beginning to perform shortly thereafter. Beginning as a duo with her sister, she decided to branch out to find her own sound and started her journey into producing. In 2018 she won the award for Best Melody in the Raise Her Voice competition. That accomplishment inspired her to dive deeper into the music world by self-producing her sound.
Her productions are usually low-beat, filled with guitar and vocals layered in reverb and effects. Her songs are intimate and personal, usually recorded in her bedroom closet. The lyrical content embraces mature topics including addiction and depression, providing a unique contradiction between her age and heavy content. Each song is a vulnerable peek into her perspective on the world.

Singer/songwriter Ryann Eve grew up with poetry: excerpts from Emily Dickinson stuffed in her pockets and tales of Robert Frost bouncing around in her fourth-grade backpack. Rooted in Motown and jazz, with a penchant for the piano, she dreamt of stepping out of her bedroom and onto a stage. Through her father, a screenwriter, she saw firsthand how cutthroat the entertainment industry could be. This, accompanied by an innate drive to create, formed her first inkling of doubt. She was trapped in a war between being an idealist and a realist. A pessimistic optimist.
Her lyrics aren’t meant to coddle you; they’re blunt, sarcastic, and bittersweet. Reminiscent of the same overdramatized poetry she grew up reading. Drenched in bluesy undertones and guttural soul, Ryann Eve makes for a haunting contralto. Her songs are a blend of traditional jazz and modern alternative, each fitted with smart-mouthed lyrics and a sour self-awareness. Often, she ends up being the butt of her own joke.
At 15, Ryann Eve released her debut EP, “2k5” in May 2020. As an advocate for mental health, she uses her music to spread awareness in songs such as “Heel,” where she wrestles with a personification of her own anxiety. At 13, Eve won Best Original Song at a charity benefit for Girls Rock Santa Barbara. And, unlike the doubtful girl of her past, she’s feeling pretty optimistic.

Born with paralyzed vocal chords, doctors said Sofia Schuster might not live long let alone speak. Through a combination of strong will and quality medical care, she persevered and found her voice. At the age of three Sofia became captivated by music, and that set her on a trajectory that profoundly impacted the rest of her life.
After winning the Teen Impact of the Year Award for Girls Rock SB in 2018 and winning the Teen Star SB competition in 2019, Sofia was contacted by producers to audition for the 2020 season of American Idol.
From a young age, Sofia began conveying deep messages through her music; from reproductive rights to body image, she has found her voice through meaningful music. Sofia had previously performed her original women’s rights song “My Body, My Choice” at a Planned Parenthood benefit and decided to perform it again for American Idol’s celebrity judges as a way to boldly share what’s in her heart rather than take the safe route with a popular cover song. It was a risky move but the right one as she passed the audition in Hollywood. Sofia frequently performs alongside Grammy- and Oscar-winning icon Kenny Loggins, often supporting the Unity Shoppe through music performances and telethons.
