administrative associate
This is a year-round, in-person position with the opportunity to become nearly full-time during summer (June–August) 2023. The all-important admin associate is responsible for a variety of tasks in support of our mission to empower girls through music education, the creative arts, community, and positive mentorship. These tasks touch on every facet of the organization: operations, programs, development, events, marketing + PR, social media, and more. Collaborative “team players” to the front, please! Just about everything we do gets done as a supportive team trying tirelessly to change the world, and the admin associate is undeniably part of that.
BIPOC women + gender-expansive humans strongly encouraged to apply.
SCHEDULE
10–15 hours/week to start, at least 8 of which must be completed in-person with other year-round staff. Remaining hours each week are spent doing simple tasks (“homework”) remotely or completing local errands, such as tabling at events, picking up material donations, or distributing program or event flyers.

Complete payroll on pre-determined schedule
Attend meetings and take/distribute notes, reminders, follow-ups, resulting calendar items
Coordinate, research, and place approved ads, such as for open positions or upcoming program registrations
Act as program registrar (largely seasonal work), such as running reports and answering simple questions like “How do I apply for financial aid?”
Assist in events and important public initiatives, both in-person and virtual
Very light graphic design and asset formatting/beautifying

Must be local to either Santa Barbara or Ventura County—this is NOT a remote position
Responsiveness, attention to detail, and very strong writing/verbal/communication skills

Familiar with using basic professional tools, such as MS Office, Dropbox, Google Mail/Drive/Calendar, Instagram, Canva, and more
